@Warmbiscuits1995 Some of my all-time favorite bands are Dream Theater, Avenged Sevenfold, and Frank Zappa. I am 100% serious when I say I think ABR is just as good as, if not better than, all of them.

And I much agree with you. ABR is my #1 also. They are WAY ahead of any other band for me, hands down.

@jamcow3 I agree. It's comparing apples to oranges. I think all the bands I mentioned are at the top of their game, I just consider ABR my fav for personal reasons. I think there is an argument for comparing ABR these other "top" bands because the way ABR is able to bring their lyrics and musical elements together to form these songs is nothing short of amazing. Just because they are a non mainstream, new(er) metal-core band, I don't think they should be excluded from such discussion.

It's hard to actually compare ABR to all the other bands I see on here.. just cause they are so different from them.

But its easy to say ABR is at the top of their genre, like others some of you all listed.

They really are so incredibly talented, and awesome guys in general.

@trashthethrasher I know it's a bit of a stretch, but I think it's a valid comparison because I view ABR as comparable songwriters/lyricists (ABR songs have more meaning, DT tells better stories, imo), and at writing unique, creative melodies and rifts. DT is respected mostly because of their world class technical skill and body of work. @Kingwadesky I think ABR are equal, or close to, to a7x in many regards. I think ABR lyrics are second to none, so that's a +1 for ABR there, IMO.
