Bow tying made easy from Announcingit.com - step-by-step instructions on how to make a flat bow.

Take one end of a ribbon and put it through the left hole. Pull the ribbon through the back and do the same thing on the other side. Flip the invitation over and criss-cross the two ends of the ribbon. Pull each end of the ribbon back through the opposite hole, and gently pull on both ends. Trim the ends, and there you have it: your flat bow.

  • The width of this invitation is 5 inches. We cut the ribbon to 9 inches and then trimmed the ends after the bow was assembled to get rid of any fraying and to make a pretty diagonal final cut to the ends.
