I don't understand why rats would have a trigger in their brain that specifically says "stay away from cats!". Rats evolved in China, cats evolved in Africa. Besides, there are plenty of domesticated rats who will go up to a cat even if they are parasite-free, especially the females who love anything with a soft texture. And if you were to place a rat in an environment with cat odors for a long enough time, it would just get used to it.

I can't believe people are taking this shit seriously. This is a bunch of poorly researched, exaggerated, parody or out-of-context videos edited together to scare naive viewers. There is no reason for the parasite (not a virus) to affect human brains. Almost everyone has already been exposed to toxoplasmosis cysts and is immune to any effects besides a few flu-like symptoms.

Hi I need help here I have a friend suffering in hospital for a month now , and after more than 15 days in hospital the doctors diagnosed her having toxoplasmosis , however she is in isolated room at the hospital , without been able to communicate ,she probably lost more than 20kg . And to tell you the truth is really shocking to see her at the hospital and remembering the way she was before !! Hope in God she you recovery soon .
