carbon dating says about 4 billion by the way and it is accurate because it has been tested with the scientific method. read a text book. how a bout dinosaurs... believe they existed. guess what we use carbon dating to find out how old they are. and carbon is just the best way to date stuff because of it half-life which all element have.
You seem to be under the misapprehension that evolution is a conscious decision more akin to Lamarckian evolution.
Chameleons never 'decided' to change colours. Just like the evolution of the eye which started with simple lightly lightsensitive cells the first pigments were selected for because it gave the individuals a slightly better advantage to survive.
What you see is the result of selection over millions of years.
In contrast, the snap trap and lobster-pot traps evolved only once among carnivorous plants. In the descriptions below, the plant groups and names follow the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group II (1993) and Peter Stevens' Angiosperm Phylogeny Website, which do not use formal classification ranks above the level of the order.
For the actual answers, you'll need to dig deeper ;)

again, i can see why some things are 'hard to swallow' at the face of it.
You're a dumbass. Evolution isn't a belief system. It's demonstrably true.

hey, matros22. I liked your video. For me Creation Magazine answers a lot of Q's . look into it. It is really good.

I find that odd, because evolution seems to fly in the face of the bibles teachings.

Hello matros22.
I hope you really don't buy into the whole evolution delusion, even if you try to justify it by saying Genesis is metaphorical.
It's really an insult to God.
But in the entire spectrum of things, why are believers spending so much time on figuring out creation in general? That's not the core of things.
Hope you have a good day!

I don't accept evolution, but keeping an open mind is fair. Some creatures are so bizarre though...
off topic, you remind me/ look like Peter off the show Heroes :)

Don't let yourself be fooled by the false dichotomy many are pushing. You can accept evolution without becoming an atheist.
There are several christians here on YT who have no problem accepting evolution.
I recommend you read the book 'Finding Darwins God' by Kenneth Miller.

Carbon dating should only be used on organic objects not older than 60000 years because of the relative short decay rate of C14.
Therefore carbon dating is a very bad method to estimate the age of the earth.
lead-lead dating is far superior. That and other methods show that the earth is 4,4 - 4,5 billion years old.
