http://www.WhatWouldYouSayToThePresident.com ABC World News Charlie Gibson interviews President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush at Camp David. Looking back on his eight years in the White House, President George W. Bush pinpointed incorrect intelligence that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction as "biggest regret of all the presidency."

President reflects on the camaraderie in his administration.
"I think I was unprepared for war," Bush told ABC News' Charlie Gibson in an interview airing today on "World News."

"In other words, I didn't campaign and say, 'Please vote for me, I'll be able to handle an attack,'" he said. "In other words, I didn't anticipate war. Presidents -- one of the things about the modern presidency is that the unexpected will happen."

Bush, who has been a stalwart defender of the war in Iraq and maintaining U.S. troop presence there, said, in retrospect, the war exceeded his expectations.

  • In 2001, President Bushs first budget warned that financial trouble of a large GSE could cause strong repercussions in financial markets. In 2003, the Administration began calling for a new GSE regulator. Despite resistance from Congress, President Bush continued to call for GSE reform until Congress finally acted in 2008 to provide the additional oversight the President requested five years earlier. Unfortunately, the reform came too late to prevent systemic consequences.

  • Bush comes across as a decent man, probably a little bit misunderstood, but a good person.....someone you'd see living next door cutting the grass having a beer.

.... but NOT CIC of the United States of America

  • Im democrat but bush jr one of my favourite presidents.

  • @ResearchForTruth75 thank you someone who doesnt have their head up their ass bush warned everyone about this but they were to busy accusing him of 9/11 or calling him a dumb redneck whos the dumbass now obama

  • I don't necessarily think Bush was directly behind the mishaps and lies that occurred during his presidency. However, the argument that he listened to intelligence being his defense for foreign policy mistakes doesn't excuse him. He was elected to appoint the people that could accomplish the job. If it was a corporation he would have been fired for building the wrong team. He was brutally incompetent and that is all. Not necessarily evil, just really dumb.

  • although im no fan on bush by all means' watchin this lets me know two things. he can actually answer a question directly & that he is decent.

  • @cheddacheese15 he didnt want war, he didnt anticipate war what kinda person in there right mind would want to go to war, when he talks he doesnt seem like a guy who starts trouble or wants to fight, for god sake he dont even comment on obama's views, you really believe he sat down at his desk and 6 or 7 months in said ok let 911 happend and lets go to war YESSSAAA! no you gotta be crazy to really think that bro

  • Stop blaming BUSH for everything that happened during his presidency. He had a lot on his plate their is no way he could done all of it. Same thing for Obama he can't fix everything at once

  • @AussieRedneck09 Yea bro i completely agree with you coming from a person who's youtube name is AussieRedneck and doesnt know how to spell ''doesnt'' and ''when'', so i see where the 30% of the nation still support him, besides neocons and his political party members hahaha.

  • Bush: "Rarely do the American People give a political party 3 terms." Hmmm!!

    Let's see....

(R)Grant (2 terms), Hayes, Garfield, Arthur

    (R)McKinly, Rooselvelt (2 terms), Taft

    (R)Harding, Cooolidge, Hoover

    (D)Rooselvelt (4 Terms), Truman

    (R)Reagan(2 terms), Bush

And hardly any party gets elected 3 times??? He's the President and he doesn't even know his own party???
