@toyota4life94 Thanks for the advice. I had my Toyota dealer change the oil and filter every 3,000 miles for the first 6,000 miles with conventional oil. I then switched to a full synthetic, changed every 6,000 miles. I get less engine wear, more power, and slightly better gas mileage. I currently am using Castrol Edge on both my 4runner and Supra.

This guy has no clue, 4Runners have always been expensive and known to be worth it. They are great simple trucks that can take a beating, if you value bells & whistles look elsewhere!
I bet he like the Highlander and the Passport.

I bought a 2006 4runner SR-5 V-8 new for 31K. It has full-time 4WD and a locking Torsen center differential. It's a really nice vehicle and worth every penny. A leaky tire valve, fixed under warranty, has been my only service issue in 5 years. It's an offroad capable vehicle, so there is a small amount of comprimise in street handling. It has a very comfortable, highly controlable, but slightly floaty ride on road. 0-60 in 6.86 seconds. It will tow 7,000 lbs.

@hunterandchrisshow It's still the most off-road capable mid-size SUV on the market, regardless of who drives it.

Yes, exactly. As much as I like Jeeps, they are not reliable at all. So if you like to offroad, you better go with other vehicles because a Jeep is likely to leave you stranded in the boonies. The 4Runner is very capable offroad and bulletproof in terms of reliability.
