An Ulster variant of the famous John Barleycorn song known throughout Scotland, England and Ireland.
The air has an unusual, almost ominous sound highlighted by the use of the bodhran drum.
We learned this version from the great Belfast band The Wolfhound., famous in the 1970's as one of the best Republican Traditional / Rebel bands

  • I like it....there appears to be many variants of lyrics to this old tune. I've not heard any that I dislike...they all have much to say if we just listen. To the performers, Nice job, well done.

  • A bit too irish

  • Where can I find the lyrics of this version?
