  • It's small for being a 4 MW generator :-D

I'm joking, in the title you should have said 4,000 W or 4 Kw, not 4,000 Kw

  • That engine is "hunting" is it hungry? do you not feed it?

  • it needs a new carb, you can't let these things sit for 5 months with out running them, the fuel plugs all of the orifaces in the carb. I know this was 2 years ago, but just incase anyone comes across this in the future attempting to find out the issue of their own KY.

  • Some engineer is completely confused by what quiet means, or hass a lot less pull at onan than their marketing guy.

  • Onan = junk

  • I had one of these in a brand new RV. The generator lasted 40 hours then would start but turn off in less than 5 minutes. Gave fault code of overvoltage. Took it to Cummins Bridgeway and they isolated from the RV power system, ran it without load and said it was fine. Left a big mess in the RV, did not reconnect,, screws and nuts all over the floor and bed. Took it to another RV dealer and they loaded it and it failed. Be carefull before you buy. No customer service these days.

  • After listening to it, what seems to fail is the "quiet" aspect claimed by the manufacturer. I be pissed if you ran that thing anywhere near my campsite.

  • you probably could have got a rebuild kit and just rebuilt it for about $10. The kit just has the seals, diaphragms and o-rings that it may need. It will run like new again if done right.

  • im not ripping on you or anything, but why didnt you just give a good clean?
