Mayors Walk 2009

About 150 people walked in the Creative City Walk to meet the Mayor and continued towards the Festival Plaza where they met about 500 striking city workers. The annual Mayor's walk, in celebration of Windsor's founding, was turned into a peaceful protest of Mayor Eddie Francis with hundreds chanting, "Eddie's Gotta Go."

Of particular interest is the sign that reads: "Your arrogance knows no bounds"

Does no one see the irony in this stone being thrown by a group that continues to lower the morale of the city, destroy the support of the community and further the disrespect for worker's unions? The real arrogance here is from people who insist on more at a time when that is not feasible. There is no such thing as entitlement when it comes to the working world - now THAT is boundless arrogance.

Remeber last year when lone picketer Matt Ford protrested the 15% pay-raises and was threatend with arrest?

Wow! Where was the Windsor police to threaten CUPE with arrest?

Oh yeah they only pick on people who are alone.
