Labour leader Ed Miliband is not a popular Labour leader. Labour MP Hilary Benn tries to defend Ed.

This video has been edited to clip out video that the BBC added that add nothing to the narrative, and could get the clip deleted.

Recorded from BBC Newsnight, 15 December 2011.

  • @irdial You stopped watching at 4:55 or the video clip screwed up? I check uploaded clips as it's not unheard of for youtube to mess them up badly.

  • Ed is moving to the looney left what a disaster this closet marxist is!!!!

  • Notice the BBC correspondent David Grossman says at 2.44.... "why aren't WE doing a whole lot better" "WE" meaning the labour party.

Truly shocking slip up from our "independent" state run broadcaster.

  • Proverbs 10.14 Wise men store up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool invites ruin.

  • Cameron is very quick on his feet.

  • @ukipwarrior Wow, I can't tell if you're trolling or if you actually believe that garbage. There's no doubt that he's a completely shit leader, but a Marxist...? Just lol. :)

  • @TheCasualObservers I am not saying that is not what he meant. But I would seriously doubt anyone would say those words unless they had sympathy with their position. It is just telling that the BBC (well known labour mouthpiece as you should be aware) correspondent feels comfortable to say it. It can be brushed aside of course, I would say it is a nod to his own true feelings.

I am guessing you are a left/socialist supporter yourself, hence your biased opinion.

  • @tarapinkerton Sorry - I'm not sure whether you are intentionally being deceitful, or if it is a genuine mistake on your part (I imagine its the latter), but if you listen from 2.26, rather than 2.44, you get the whole context:

He said: "The worry concerning Labour MPs is.... why aren't we doing a whole lot better?"

Sometimes if you are passionate about something - which you clearly are here - you end up hearing what you want to hear. As clearly do the 7 people who recommended your comment.

  • @ukipwarrior Marxist? Seriously?? Calm down man.

  • @ukipwarrior eh? do you even know what a marxist is? go back to school you fucking clown, and come back when you've a clue what you're on about

  • @tarapinkerton "The question facing Labour MPs is this..." - If you'd bothered to listen properly, you'd have realised the "we" was grammatically accurate and had jack all to do with Grossman's own beliefs. It was anything but a 'slip up'. By all means slag the BBC's neutrality (or lack thereof) off, but at least find some proper evidence first.

  • @Supersmooth007 Because Cameron is the biggest con man to ever live - If you respect him for anything youve been fooled.

The trade unions VOTED for Ed to become leader doesnt mean he has to do everything they want. As for the polls Tories and Labour are pretty close. Some say Labour ahead a bit and others Tories ahead a bit.
