This is a 1930 Bugatti T-35 B being warmed up in the paddock at Infineon Raceway on June 2, 2007. I filmed it during the qualifying session of the Wine Country Classic. The T-35 B was the most successful racecar of its time. Check out www.westcoastchallenge.com for more info.

  • I'd be interested if someone could tell me more about this car - not totally sure it's all T-35B. The wider radiator and twin filler fuel tank indicate to me it's a T51, however the engine looks T35B as it's not twin cam and the supercharger blow-off valve looks to be the correct position for a 35B - it would be lower down for a T51

  • I'm not an expert on Bugatti, so I cannot say for sure. I got my ID from the program that was handed out on the day of the race. Perhaps the car was modified by the previous owner(s).

  • Wow that sounds great. Is that a V4 or V8?

  • The Type 35-B was the final version of the Type 35, it had a 2.3 liter overhead cam straight 8 and a modified supercharger. It was good for about 140 mph and a 35-B won the French Grand Prix in 1929. Bugatti made about 45 examples of this car and it was considered to be the most desirable of all the Type 35's. Today would be valued between $1 million and $2 million.

  • Does this car actually start with the front hand crank?

  • great car! wheels is original?

  • Jay Leno has two 37As, which are smaller, simpler 4-cylinder versions of the 35. They are a bit cheaper, if that word can ever be used on a Bugatti, than the 8 cylinder GP-cars; I just saw a 37A for sale on a web site for $735000...

  • What a beautiful sound.

  • Yeah it really is a beautiful car. I think the one Jay Leno has is a inline 4.

  • nice. I meant inline. IDK why i said V.

  • In line 8 with a compressor.
