Taking a look at my grandmother's General Music (GEM) F40 electronic organ from the 70s.
It seems like there's no further info on this one available in the web.

  • Even today, these things are expensive! Saw an electric organ at the local thrift store for $500!! wasn't sure of the model number anyawy

  • @DvdXploitr

Seems like the organ at the thrift store was just totally overpriced. Organs like the one in the video are going for less than 50€ on ebay.

  • @GanEdenAustralia Can you make a video about them if you haven't already done so please? I'm very interested in synthesisers even though I can't play the keyboard to same my life.

  • Actually, the leslie works. when you "turned it on" at 3:05 it actually decreased speed, so there are different speeds. (At least that's what I can tell by ear)

  • I wouldn't pay more than a couple hundred for an electronic organ from a thrift store. One time I saw an Allen analog organ from the late 1950s in nearly perfect working order for $150.

  • Accomp is for Accompaniment, I believe.

  • Adams family merchandise :)

  • Harpsichord is a string based keyboard instrument that is older than the piano and organ. :)

  • Nice, I have a load of synthesizers I use for recording. Some from as far back as 1986 to the present day.

  • That's a really nice organ! The fancy name for the volume control is the "expression pedal". The constant tone is a stuck key or "cipher"; probably one of those many little circuit boards has a leaky capacitor on it.

My parents had an older tube-type 1962 Lowrey organ when I was a kid. It was a simple model, with no Leslie, no drum machine, and no echo, but it was still a lot of fun to play with.

  • Very Nice!
