It so happens that I am a high school biology teacher, so I can help answer this. They have the same number of chromosomes and they are very closely related from an evolutionary standpoint. A species is a very relative and subjective term, and is little more than our attempt to categorize different organisms.

Nope, would not have guessed it, although I probably should have. Summer has been great. How has yours been (gee, look at us catch up on Youtube for the whole world to see. Glad to know nobody else looks at these yet)
