Another Audiosurf by me. The song is called "Nuclear Trance" by "Blood Stain Child" This time it's a fast Pusher Elite video, while testing whether artificially lowering the framerate (to 37fps in this case) helps... well, while this makes it slightly easier to avoid blocks, it also makes it more difficult to catch the blocks you actually want, and it's harder to concentrate on the track and overall less pleasant to play. So, I am not sure really...

The key to scoring well on this song is to collect as many red and yellow blocks as possible. Since I unnecessarily skipped quite a few, had several unclean matches, and even lost the chain once (at 0:30, so it's not too bad), I believe it should be possible to get at least 900k on a really good run, even with fewer storms than I had.

  • well, I suppose it still depends on the ratios of each color block for a given song... the point ratios of the blocks are 1:2:3:5:8, so with pusher, blues double to being better than greens, greens double to being better than yellow, etc. On this song I agree, it looks like you have to work to string together the high value blocks.

I'd like to see a pusher vid with seeing red/butter ninja and nearly all clean clears :-O

  • Hm... if I find a song where this is possible, I will make a video. The main problem is that on some songs there may be a pair or a single red block at some point, and then a big gap until the next red block. Of course, that automatically kills a lot of clean matches...

  • damn, that's some intense stuff. I find that forcing a given framerate really messes with my sense of timing as well.

lol "The key to scoring well on this song is to collect as many red and yellow blocks as possible."... isn't that the case on every song? :-p

  • Well, with Pointman, yes.

But with Pusher it's a bit different, since often the space between yellows and/or reds is too large, so you have to collect a lot of other blocks as well anyway. In this video, I collect green+yellow at 0:50-1:15, and red+whatever at 1:15-1:40.

But I am not sure if that is really the ideal tactic... maybe aiming for Seeing Red and Butter Ninja makes sense even for Pusher, at least on fast (tg>300) songs, and it's simply too difficult to actually do it.

  • Tatu - not gonna get us

the top elite score was played by pusher and he got butter ninja and seeing red. I tried but can't do it - maybe you can.

  • "I'd like to see a pusher vid with seeing red/butter ninja and nearly all clean clears"

That would be completely situational. You can't rely on either bonus at all while going for clears. There are usually too many gaps like Lu said. Though seeing it happen would be pretty interesting.

  • I agree that 900k is quite possible. On my tack, there are a few times where dodging 4 or 5 yellows means you'll be able to pick up 4 or 5 more reds. I guessed about 680 raw is possible at peak. Which is closer to 1 million, but a little short.

Nice vid. Make more... right meow.
