What should America do in Iraq? Should we withdraw our troops and bring them home or should we stay the course even though that could mean another hundreds year war? What do you think?

Today's headlines read "US April 2007 Death Toll In IRAQ Passes 100! Have you had a son or daughter killed or wounder in Iraq? How can we fight IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) when you can't even see the enemy? How can Iraq ever be made secure when its neighbors are continuosly permitting insurgents to cross the boarders into Iraq to cause havock and disstablelize the country?

The United States never declared war on Iraq. Why? Because President Bush never asked Congress for a declaration of war. I suggest that we stop playing with the lives of our troops. Either we have a declaration of war and identify our enemy through a declaration of war, or we bring our troops home and invest in the future of America through securing our boarders against future terrorist attack by using all possible means.

The United States military should not be turned into a police force which is the role it is now playing in Iraq. The world's population is exploding. There are over 6.6 billion people in the world with an increase of approximately 2.53 people every second! This means more people, greater population density and increase in competition and conflict over time. The strategy which America needs to adapt for its own security and survival is not to police the world or even Iraq, but to secure our own boarders, control our own population growth and invest in the quality of life for all Americans. By keeping a police force in Iraq all we are doing is creating a new generation of disabled Veterans who will require high health care cost for the rest of their lives, a cost that America has failed to pay in the past.

So why should we stay in Iraq if we are not even going to provide our Veterans and their families with life-long security? In the case of my own mother, the widow of a much decorated officer and a gentleman, she was declared a ward of the state of Alabama and is being warehoused that the state has power and control of everything my parents sacrificed their whole lives to acquire and secure. If this is how we treat our own Veterans and their families now, what can we expect for today's Iraq War Veterans when down the road their sacrifice is long forgotten and the states come along and make prisoners of them, warehousing them in antiquated nursing homes?

By staying in Iraq we are wasting those valuable resources that are needed to invest in the future of America, to provide health care, education and jobs inside America for all citizens. We can never have a secure America when we are depending upon other nations for oil and other resources, being help hostage by black gold! Without a declaration of war which defines and designates our enemy, we should bring our troops home now! We should make PEACE NOW and begin to work to provide real security for all our citizens, not a superficial security based upon turning our military into an incapacitated army of Veterans and their families and spouses which will be forgotten, warehoused and made virtual slaves by the various states in the future!

President Bush, bring our troops home now and end the insanity which is destroying our future! Without a declaration of war there is no justification to put or keep our soldiers in harms way! That is the will of the American people and a president who does not honor the will of the people is treasonous and should be impeached!
