I like an L100 best of the lot. Ironically one sat in our living room at home growing up from when I was about 10 years old, but I played guitar instead at the time. I had an A100 and Leslie 122 I didn't really like as much as a nice L100 spinet. To prove how great they sound not rocked out like this video have a listen to the Late and great Walter Wanderley. Buy one of his records and put it on a good turn table and just listen to how great that L100 sounds. Quite literally a perfect sound:-)

@glamheden2 Cool! What are the leg-less L100's- L102, and what else? I believe this is what I'll look for even though a church has a mint M111 for $100, but would probably take $75, sick I know, but here in Columbus Ohio we are spoiled with great organ deals.

If the L100's were good enough for Keith Emerson, They are good enough for me. Thanks for the video demo and performance.

Yes, the L-100 will never be a B-3. The B-3 will never be an L-100. Sometimes the slightly thinner tone and punch of the L coupled with its peculiar percussion bite is just what the doctor ordered. The L's are my favorite spinets...the M-3/M-100 tries too hard to be a little console. The L is just its lovable scrappy self. I can't get that sharper weedier tone out of my B-3 or A-100. I have to bring out the L-100. Every Hammond head should have one.

@ctpctp Well said!
I see the Electrotone pre-sets on the left cheekblock. I had a 58' M3 I paid $75 for in mint condition that had duet-sixteen pre-sets ( like yours , but another switch stacked above the one like yours so that each manual had it's own 16 pre-sets- one was aluminum and the other gold anodized). Electrotone also made after market key percussion kits and reverb kits.

Your Hammond sounds great. I can't tell you how SICK I am of the constant "this or that isn't a B3...your Hammond doesn't sound as good as my Hammond...you can't play this or that on a spinet...my vibrato is better than your vibrato" Give it a rest people...just. give. it. a. rest. The B3/C3/A100 is what it is. The M3 is what it is. The L100 is what it is. The Nord and XK are what they are. Let them all be what they are, and play what you like, on what you want to play, and live and let live

HAMMOND L100 never will be a B3, it's sure, but it's a fabulous tonewheels organ. Specialists of HAMMOND organs can customized L100, prepare this one to have great sound, overdrive, but never the famous vibrato of a B3 we found in jazz and in SANTANA sound. About the sound it's the truth, but Leslie speaker gives so a color, simply different between a 760VL or a 147 with tubes.
Nord is not realy good, and grows old rather bad. If you want a light Hammond, choose real Hammond XK serie !

@organeu The nord is not bad, l think the hammond XK series sound and feels bad compared to the nord c1 and nord c2.
