Busters Third Seizure of the Night- This is a video that I made for my vet and for my family so they can see what we were experiencing. The dog is under the care of a vet and is on plenty of medication to help control the seizures. This video was recorded in the early stages of the onset of the seizures when we were figuring out the best combination of medications for him. Unfortunately, there is little understanding of epilepsy especially in dogs and every dog needs to be treated differently to see what types of medication they will respond too. He was rescued from a a high kill shelter where he was taken after he was hit by a car. We believe the car accident is the cause of the seizures but no one is able to tell us with absolute certainty. About thirty minutes after the seizures he is back to normal albeit a bit exhausted and acts like it didn't even happen. We have been able to control the seizures with the medications he is on but he will never be seizure free. The cluster seizures have stopped and he no longer has multiples in the same night. Buster lives a normal life and is the sweetest dog you will ever meet.

  • Our dog has similar. Could not afford Flea control 3 months and he did not have one. Fed him a diet dog food he had one. Stopped food a week none, gave it to him and he had one. Applied another kind of flea control tonight, he had one about 8 hours later. Had none in weeks. We are thinking it is a preservative being used. I personally have allergies to certain preservatives. Stinks companies do not often list preservatives, Prayers you can figure out what causes them and hopefully eliminate it.

You can't exactly pick him up during a seizure. PLUS, you should NOT hold them down during an episode and in order to take him to a vet you need to restrain them for travel.

You just have to leave them alone just like when a human has one.

  • What a gorgous well loved dog he is ,,, my heart goes out to you. x

  • @718LIGHTUP Theres nothing you can do while an animal or human having a siezure the best thing to do is stick by the side of the person or animal and try to calm him/her down and you are just being the four eyed dick you are for posting that comment

  • @718LIGHTUP Maybe you should read the summary before commenting. He said he made the video for his vet so he/she could see the seizure, which is very important. And people posting the seizures here not only help to educate people as to what a seizure looks like in case they have the misfortune of witnessing one (dog sitters, daycares etc), but is also is extremely helpful to people like myself, who have dogs with seizures, and somewhat comforting to know you aren't alone.
