i don't think this was the first typhoon to hit cheju-do....i was stationed on the island in 1956 and we had a typhoon hit us then.

Yeah, that was it. Category 4. But the surf was great the next day. Really loved that vacation.

Was just in Jeju for Lunar New Year. Amazing how quickly the island recovered!
