  • Marcus,

I find it hard to incorporate my writing and ideas along with the art, so I find myself just writing, but have nothing to draw to include with what I am writing, or vice versa. Am I making any sense, how do you incorporate both, or are the drawings and paintings different then what you are writing.

Can you tell I am analyzing maybe too much?

I hope to hear from you! It may help

    Crystal,

It's Cynthia replying - I'd start with simple things:

trying laying color on the page

    play with borders

    try playing with fun lettering

glue strips of magazine images in blank pages to discover later

Marcus and I would both tell you to stop thinking and just play. Just play! Explore!

Hope this helps, great blog you have!

  • Marcus .. You are one very organized artist! Great video.

  • Am looking all over to find a Sennelier (or any ) sketchbook that will hold some W/C....no luck. Any suggestions? You have some MAD skills, Marcus!! Green w/envy......<3

  • Yes - what particular type of Pilot pen? I've been on the search for a new pen - the one I've used for years is no longer made.

  • Yes! What particular type of Pilot pen!?

  • Marcus, what pen are you using? I like how fine tipped it is. I will check out Pilot pens but wonder about the particulars. Thanks.

I agree with Cynthia, what is important is just to play! In my own Sketchboook work I try not to worry about whether the drawing and writing go together, they jsut happen along at the same time on the page that is open. the fun is then to pull the disparate elements together and see where they take me.

From your message, it seems to me you're trying to hard to know what you are going to do before doing it.

    yours Marcus
