SPECIAL THANKS TO: All the brilliant photographers throughout the years who captured every detail of our amazing history as a nation in turmoil, reform, and maturity. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing these images on the Internet. If we could give credit to every one of you we most certainly would, indeed, for without your laser-sharp vision as history unfurled, this homage would not be possible. KIND REGARDS ALSO TO: The utterly astounding, divinely diverse (and now wide AWAKE) People of the United States of America for, galvanizing, uniting for change, and above all regaining our collective hope. There are difficult tasks and troubles ahead but many hands make light work, and such lightness and ease of turmoil affords a new kindness from us all somehow. This seismic cultural event marks the transformation and elevation of this generation--and all those who remember this day, this time, and one incredible night in Global history ... FINALLY: A million, zillion, gajillion thanks to (the now President-Elect) Barack Hussein Obama, Jr., his amazing wife, Michelle, and his poised, beautiful daughters, Malia and Sasha. How refreshing life can be no matter the challenging times we face. As long as we stay united, we shall overcome. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Oh and ... um ... YES WE DID!

  • who is the lady at 4:54???

  • Coretta Scott King, Dr. King's widow and his daughter.

  • Fantastic montage of some of our struggles and some of our successes as a nation. Thank you for sharing this with YouTube and the Giddens community. "Yes We Can" should forever be as important a statement as "I Have a Dream," because we still have a long, hard road together to see both of those ideas through to their culmination. Our children are fortuante enough to see these times, to be given hope and a reminder that with community effort, change can happen.

  • Giddens is Dr, Kings dream in motion!

  • I am SO PROUD to be part of the Giddens community. This video is inspirational, and I'm going to share it with everyone I know. Give it a week, and I bet it will be all over the internet. Great job!

  • Amen to THAT!

  • Ecellent video which captures teh reborn hope of a nation, perhaps even the World. I love the way he refers to the 'United' States over aand over again. Seems like a really good guy.

Hope he brings a positive feeling back into the World.

  • Si se puede Obama. God Bless you.

  • "Yes we can" is "Si se puede" in spanish, and is the motto of the United Farm Workers.Dolores Huerta came up with the slogan. The phrase has been widely adopted by other labor unions and civil rights organizations and drew widespread political and media attention as a rallying cry during the 2006 U.S. immigration reform protests.

  • Thank you SOOOOO much!
