  • If the SE line of PRS amps are for a lower budget. Then why not review it with a PRS SE guitar? People who buy these amps can't afford Guitars like an american Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 worth more than 2000$.

  • @RoyvanRikken thanks for the reply. We're not reviewing the amp, just trying to give a demonstration of some of the tones it's capable of. We think the amplifier will work well with a range of guitars. Joey Santiago of the Pixes is using a SE Amplifier on tour with a guitar that is more expensive than any in our SE range. Your point is noted though! We'll try to do a SE > SE demo in the future. Thanks for watching!

  • @RoyvanRikken seeing as how the cheapest head is 900 dollars, I wouldn't call these "budget priced" at all.

  • @kwight100 The big thing is the design. If they're well designed with good PCB's (no way they're turret board!) and good components then they should hold up really well!

  • USA designed and manuafactured in China. Sounds good, just need to wait to see if they hold up.

  • Play faster!!! Faster!!!

  • Unfortunate that these are made in China. Very disappointed in PRS for choosing to have the manufacturing done there. I thought better of them. I'm from MD and a big PRS fan, but China guys? No thanks.

  • @RoyvanRikken One thing that needs to be realized is that no matter the quality or expense of the guitar, most of the tone is in the player themself. You could probably give Steve Vai a PRS SE custom 24 and a PRS American Custom 24...and in a blind test we probably couldn't tell the difference. Both, if properly setup, will come out sounding like Steve Vai. They both might have slight tonal nuances about them that the other one doesn't have, but it'd be that way with two American PRS 24's too.

  • Do the tubes need to be biased?

Mesa Boogie amps don't need to because they have a fixed bias.

  • @RoyvanRikken sound just about the same if the wood choice, neck profile, pickups, and hardware are the same.

  • @RoyvanRikken The amps are designed for good quality at a good budget. The SE 20 head is just under $900. These amps are for musicians who can afford a nice american made PRS, or someone who spends more on amps than guitars. In addition the SE line is designed to sound as close to the US counterparts as possible in my opinion. Both versions of the Custom 24 (SE and American) have HFS and Vintage Bass pickups and similar woods and neck profiles. A PRS made in America and a PRS made in Korea will
