Type 90 Japanese Main Battle Tank, Radio Controlled Infra Red Model, made by VsTank. This tank is from the VSP 1/24scale Infra Red Series and can do 'battle' with other VsTank Infra Red VSP models.

As can be seen in the video, these tanks are highly manoeuvrable and quick. It does take time to become familiar with the multi button controller. This will be rectified with the new type of controller which will be released shortly.

At the time of uploading, there are five different models from the 'modern era' tanks series. Most of these tanks come in different camouflage schemes. For example the Russian T72 M1 is available Desert color, Olive Green, Russian Service Camouflage color, plus a Winter Camouflage scheme. The Japanese Type 90 is used and operated only by Japan. All their tanks are painted in the Japanese NATO 2 color camouflage scheme. Therefore only the one color, true to the actual tanks in service with the Japan Ground Self Defence Force (JGSDF) is made by VsTank.

It is interesting how VsTank have managed to give each of this series its own 'character'. For example, the T72 M1 is slower and seems to be lower geared, but it has great climbing ability. The Leopard 2 A5 and A6 are very fast. The Type 90 is fast and also has great climbing ability, as does the Abrams.

It is hard for me to pick a favorite from the series. All are truly excellent. The Russian T72 M1 definitely stands out for its appearance, particularly in Russian Service Camouflage. The attention to detail follows right through to the rubber side covers above the upper track on the T72 M1. True to scale, it is the smallest tank of the series. While the Abrams is the largest.

The work that goes into these tanks really cannot be fully appreciated until seen 'out of the box' and viewed under good light. It is then the weathering effects, and all the fine details truly come to notice.

The weathering effect and other detail work on the WWII series grey Tiger 1
VsTank is simply outstanding.

  • @Xenomorph237 Yes, the sound has been one of the biggest criticisms of the VS Tank Pro Series. The sound is more like that of a kitchen appliance rather than that of a tank - and there is no idle sound. However there are signs that VS Tank are listening to these complaints. The latest version of the Mid Production Tiger 1 has more realistic engine sounds and sound at idle. The new King Tiger when it is eventually released will also have improved sound quality & sound at idle.

  • I love how when it drives, it makes it's engine sounds to simulate it driving. But whenever it comes to a complete stop. The engine sound goes completely mute. No engine idling sound effects when it stops. Its so realistic!! * sarcasm*

  • @trackspike64 Thank you. I will pass the compliment on to my wife :-)
