  • Peter Kreeft is one of the best ROMAN CATHOLIC apologists around. Just sayin' ;)

  • Kreeft makes things so simple! We all have desires, and this is a good thing! I look up to Kreeft's gentle and respectful way in handling the scenario with the Buddhists. He explains how we actually agree with them, that selfish desire are bad. But we as Christians don't believe that ALL desire are bad.

I laughed when Kreeft said, "How can you not desire something, if only the abolition of desire? That's a desire!" This is so true!

  • Peter Kreeft is a master.

  • @billyboy630 I hesitate to get involved in a debate like this, but I just have to say this. Stating that homosexuality is not inherently wrong yet acting on its impulse is is a bait and switch. How does this make any sense? The same cannot be said for heterosexuality, and pedophilia, for instance, is both bad in desire and action. What other examples can be given where such a tactic is defensible?

  • @misterzonker2584 our BASIC nature is to follow God we certainly have other natures, eating, sex, love, desire for material things etc.... Not all of these are good to follow. Catholicism doesnt say that homosexuality is bad, it says the act of have same sex relations is bad. It also says that sex between men and women outside marriage is bad so there are obviosuly restraints God wishes us to excersise. My nature is to be with many women, God tells me thats bad, so do reputable health org.

  • @Yahwehormyway You fool. He didn`t mean that skeptics don`t believe in thinking. He meant people who are skeptical OF thinking have to think *that* argument through. Hence, it would be self defeating to be skeptical of thinking.

  • I love the way Dr. Kreeft mentions that not following desire (for God) is going against our nature, which he clearly views as bad, yet his religion (Roman Catholicism) says that homosexuality, which is clearly part of our nature, at least according to every reputable mental health organization, IS bad.

  • @Yahwehormyway The skeptic formulates a thought about not believing in thinking = he thinks that thought. Not sure where the contradiction is, in this case.

  • if you desire to have no desire you still have desire. there's no way to escape it.

  • "Even the skeptic, who doesn't believe in thinking, is thinking that thought." Numbskull christian apologetics at its finest.

    Just, wow...
