@universalpopper its not that, its just that here in america people are more open minded, cuz those stubborn brazilians think their art is the best and u dont need to know anything else. If it wasnt for eddie bravo (an american) we wouldnt have no gi.

However Cross training is always a good idea especially when you feel you've hit a plateau or what a new perspective or outlook on grappling or whatever, but in my opinion NO-GI BJJ is the best.

I wouldn't be surprised that a shit ton of people would know how to do this better because there are a shit ton of people who made it to the forth week of wrestling season their freshman year. This is a basic wrestling move, best left to basic wrestlers.

Even though the guy is a karateka, he knows more than the average armchair warrior sitting at their computer slagging off expertvillage because the instructors aren't number 1 fighters.
Besides, some forms of karate cover grappling and throws, and you can tell that this guy knows what he's talking about from his instruction alone
