Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole soundtrack with lyrics

The movie is based off of the first three novels of the book series Guardians of Ga'Hoole by Kathryn Lasky. It follows the story of Soren, a young barn owl, who is obsessed with the legend of the Guardians of Ga'Hoole, a group of warriors and protectors of the owl kingdoms. Soren and many other owls have been kidnapped and taken to an orphanage where they are brainwashed and trained to be soldiers by wicked rulers. Although many believe the legend to be a fantasy, Soren escapes with a group of friends to find Ga'Hoole and the Guardians and ask for their help. The movie is set to be released September 24 and features the voices of Hugo Weaving, Emile de Raven, Ryan Kwanten, and Helen Mirren.

What really drew me to Legend of the Guardians was a combination of things. One, is that although it is a kids film, it seems to have a well thought out and well told story line that won't bore older audiences. The second, is how beautiful the movie is. This is the first time I have seen an animated film where it looks like the director took the time to think about cinematography and the appearance of shots. You will see in the trailer below that film often stops or slows down just to show you how amazing the animals are in flight. My particular favorite is image of Soren flying above the ocean in a lightening storm. Amazing! It only makes sense that Guardians was directed by no one other than Zack Snyder of 300 and Watchman fame. It looks like Snyder was again able to not only make a film that will be entertaining but beautiful as well.
