Called coyote: Fast response coyote... ends with a miss....

JD Piatt calls a coyote in farm country of Ohio. Scent control proves positive again, the coyote stops straight downwind, without the effectiveness of Scent-Lok clothing and proper scent control practice, this coyote surely would have busted out not presenting a shot!

@poestal i disagree with your comment about the 30/06 being too inaccurate for long distance shots. A .223 62gr bullet drops 6.9 inches at 300 yrds. A 30/06 150 gr bullet drops 7.1 inches at the same distance. The difference is not significant. Even out to 400 yrds the difference between the calibers is less than 2 inches. I know many hold the opinion that 30/06 is too high of a caliber for pelt-minded yote hunters, and there is validity to that point, but as far as accuracy, the 30/06 can hold

tkbuckslayer dude i have shot 43 coyotes from november 2011 to february 2010 and im a senior in highschool i use a 22-250 and they are pretty much the best for "PREDATOR HUNTING" 30-06 300 and all that are too heavy to make a accurate 300+ shot on a coyote trust me i have used them all

@rnasap i havent missed any of my 35 except for last fridays which pissed me off. i dont wreck the pelts thats why i use FMJ's u dont shoot a a running coyote cuz the chance of getting a good shot and being some what humane about it is virtualy impossible. and blow the shit outta them. da fuck u got against blow the shit outta them. u needa come up to wisconsin for a hunt it is extremely different from where ever the fuck u guys hunt.

2: If pelt damage is not a concern, shoot them with anything you can shoot accurately.

3: If you miss, shoot again if you can.

4: You should see what a 22-250 can do, sometimes this round is overkill on coyotes.
