Another great musician has passed on. Dobie Gray was a black American singer, songwriter and record producer, whose musical career spanned soul, country, pop and musical theater. His hit records included "The 'In' Crowd" in 1965, and "Drift Away", written by Mentor Williams, which was one of the biggest hits of 1973, selling over one million copies. "Drift Away" remains a staple of radio airplay to this day. RIP Dobie.

Thanks Howard. This was a great version. I never always knew the names of songs or even the artists who sang them. I knew the songs but that was it. You are bringing them more fully into my life. You are letting me know not only their names but who they were as people. Thank you and keep singing. :-)
