Jailbreak iPhone 3GS iOS 4 + 4.0.1 WITHOUT BEING PRE-JAILBROKEN ON 3.1.2 (SPIRIT JAILBREAK ON 3.1.3)

UPDATE FROM YOUTUBE USER "youarenothingbutskum": If you have received an error from Jailbreakme ("File Received Was Invalid"), click into Settings, then Wifi. Look for your connected Wifi Connection and then click on the blue arrow. You have to change your DNS settings by clicking on it and change it to 8.8.8.8. Then navigate back to the main Settings screen and click on Safari. After that click on Clear History, Cookies and Cache. Now try using Jailbreakme again.

Okay, so I think I am the first to upload this complicated guide for people who cannot downgrade to 3.1.2 since they do not have their SHSH Blobs backed up on Saurik's server. This method is only distributed within small sites which have potential to become widely popular due to this hack.

This hack inserts the exploit from BlackRa1n and RedSn0w into the iPhone 3GS by running a simple script that takes files from the custom built 3.1.3 firmware from either Sn0wBreeze or PwnageTool and flashes those into the firmware from 3.1.3 to convert the Spirit Userland Jailbreak to a Kernel Jailbreak (RedSn0w and BlackRa1n) so that from Recovery Mode, just like on the 3.1.2 BlackRa1n jailbreak where you get your custom firmware and restore it to the custom made iOS4 firmware, so you can jailbreak your iPhone 3GS like that, but many of you are stuck with stock 3.1.3 and cannot downgrade because your SHSH blobs aren't saved. Don't worry, people who have iBoot 359.3 old bootrom, you can successfully update to iOS4 custom firmware using this trick.

NOTE: DO NOT THINK THAT YOU CAN RESTORE TO iOS4 CUSTOM FIRMWARE JUST BY JAILBREAKING WITH SPIRIT, IT JUST WON'T WORK.

Im currently using a iphone 3gs, new bootrom (5.12.01), been jailbroken with spirit ( 3.1.3).. so.. if i upgrade to os4.0.. am I able to jailbreak it? -.-

@t3ng92 i suggest you hold off the update, assuming that you haven't saved your SHSH blobs, you cannot update to iOS4.0 specifically, as Apple does not sign anymore 4.0 firmwares, only 4.1, which is not jailbreakable, so just keep your Spirit jailbreak.
