Heroes and Villains - Hernan Cortes Part 1

If you're a lover of 16th-century history, best steer clear of this. A drama documentary is always going to flounder trying to re-create the clash-of-civilisations story of Hernan Cortes's conquest of Mexico - it's on too horrific a scale. (Maybe Hollywood should try.) But at least Brian McCardie's gutsy performance in the Heroes and Villains strand gives us a flavour of what might have driven Cortes - a mixture of piety, dread and sheer, mad-eyed folly. Watching McCardie, hedged with re-enactments and computer effects, you can just about swallow that a deranged adventurer and a handful of men, with no authority from the King of Spain and supplies pinched from the Governor of Cuba, could bring down the Aztec empire, which included a city (Tenochtitlan) bigger than anything in Europe.

la diferencia esta en que tu puedes quejarte porque los españoles cristianizabamos y desde el primer momento se reconocia que teniais alma algo tan importante en esa epoca mientras que los ingleses y sus descendientes los estaduvinenses se dedicaban a esterminar uno por uno todo pueblo indigena que encontraba le kitaban las tierras y los que tenian suerte los metian en reservas

@aztec714ok The Aztecs had many Gods Quetzalcoatl, Tonatiuh, Metztli etc. Don't know why you want to create an romatisized version of the Aztecs that is false. No one is murderers war is human nature. The Aztecs killed, Europeans killed every race has killed.

SI es cierto que a nivel de infraestructuras civiles los aztecas estaban más avanzados, pero desdeluego todo eso de que nos matavamos entre nosotros es falso. estabamos en guerra contra los turcos los franceses y los italianos, no entre nosotros

@jabbakaku mataron con enfermedades? pues como en Sudamérica y en Centroamérica. subsionar???? pues igual que los ingleses o que te crees? que mantenían el imperio gratis? es más, en las 13 colonias inglesas de norte américa, pagaban la cuarta parte de los ingresos a Inglaterra, en el caso del imperio español solo era el quinto. De nativos norteamericanos también eran millones pedazo de ignorante!!! los masacraron y expulsaron de sus tierras en vez de mezclarse con ellos como hicimos nosotros.
