  • Hello from Ohio

I'm going to make some apple wine this fall. Is there much difference in taste from using regular apples as apposed to using crab apples?

    Thanks

  • @moemansix

How exciting! It the tast truly depends on the apples....so safest answer is maybe? HA! Good Luck and cheers!

  • Hello again from Ohio

I contacted you 4 months ago with some questions about apple wine. I made some wine out of crab apples from the trees in my yard. They are about the size of the ones in your viedo. I just finished racking 5 gal. of it for the third time and I had to try it. I cant believe how good it is. I guess the deer will have to find something else to eat next year. They aren't getting any more of my crab apples....OK I will leave them some.

Thanks for the viedo. Cheers. JK

  • Great video! Thanks for putting it up!

I make apple wine from a canned concentrate from the grocery store. I use montrachet yeast and then I rack it off into a sterilized bottle and put malolactic bacteria into it for a couple weeks.

I drink it young and it usually makes my nose run and sneeze. Do you know why this is?

I appreciate your advice. Thanks a lot!
