  • Hamelin is quickly becoming my favorite pianist, and it's wonderful that we have amazing uploaders who realize how amazing it is to have live performances like this!

  • @MasterAzunai Thanks for the compliment, it's a pleasure. :)

  • My favorite part of the Tarantella is where the actual Tarantella part comes back around 1:34:54. :D He BEASTS that piece!

  • @OrangeSodaKing Yeah, he's really such a master at this piece (and he has played it with such artfulness and panache on every single recording I've heard by him)! Yeah, that's an awesome part indeed, just like the bombastic, impossibly fast finale, but actually the part what always gives me goosebumps is the plunk from 1:33:59 on - he plays that passage so delicately! Awesome performance for sure, I'm glad you like it, dude :D

  • You, my friend, have achieved new heights in the art of uploading mastery. lol. This is a good day. A very good day. I heard MAH in 2000 playing the "Norma" paraphrase and met him after the concert. He was so cool. Humble, modest and soft-spoken. We talked about Alkan and I expressed my admiration of his playing of that composer and he seemed almost embarrased at my gushing about it. I was nervous as hell but he immediately put me at ease and he signed my program. I love that piece. TY DUDE!
