Humpback Whales Pissed Off

Humpback whales display anger or frustration, chin slapping and breaching after failed feeding attempt. This was produced onsite in the field on the National Geographic Sea Bird, Aug. 2007.

I am still waiting for the part where they are "pissed off". you obviously don't know much about Humpback whales. I live here in Alaska,where this was filmed,have been a naturalist on whale watching trips here in Alaska for yrs. The jumping is either play,or they are trying to stun the herring they are after.Nothing angry about this vid! Whoever displayed this vid needs to do some "actual research on Humpbacks",before spewing false statements.

if you heard Fred Sharpe say the feeding attempts didn't work out. The one whale that kept chin slapping did it over and over and over, maybe 20 times. Of course to make this video short, I had to cut out about 18 of those.

If you heard Fred Sharpe say the feeding attempts didn't work out leaving some individuals a little "pissed off". The one whale doing the chin slaps did it over and over and over, maybe 20 times. Of course for the video I needed to tighten that up so I left out 18 of those chin slaps. Fred is one of the top biologist researchers studying humpback whales. I would not question his explanation of what was going on that day.

Great footage of a little (temper tantrum) Shows that they have feelings and capacity to think & show emotions just like humaniods do. Beautiful intelligent creatures - how could ANYONE consider killing them? Stop Japan, Norway, Iceland, Danish Faroe Islands from whale killing. Prohibit Makahs killing any whales for so-called Tradition. Wake up! NOT IN THE 21ST CENTURY! Severe Penalties for those idiot Makahs who killed a friendly grey whale who was only saying "hello" to them.
