  • I remember seeing The Who play this in 2000 and it blows this version totally away.

  • I was there too. Got one of Kens sticks. Nils Lofgren. Stranglers. AC/DC with Bon Scott being held up after a stomach pump.and the sun shone brightly. The perfect end to a week at the Edinburgh Festival.

  • I was there!I really enjoyed the gig!

  • It must have been fucking awful for Daltrey to play with Kenney Jones. Moonie played off Roger's vocals and was actually co-lead singer, as well as co-lead guitarist, co-lead bass player and on occasion co-brass section. Kenney Jones just plays 4/4 and the occasional unimagninative BAD fill on this and all his performances with The Who. Great drummer - wrong band.

  • I don't know what you Kenny dissers are talking about - he sounds great here and he was fantastic in the Faces! I think the Who were really finished when ol' Thunderfingers died.

  • @RubHerSoul1 yea I 'd have to agree . The Who became a very exciting and intense band as time went on , and Pete became the brilliant songwriter that he is . The SF's were great I loved them all . I always wondered why the Who carried on at all without Moon. He was the glue

  • @Cincinnatus1869 Back in the 60's, neck to neck, I'd almost agree. Marriott was a hard act to beat as were the rest of the SF. But over time, Pete and the Who would dominate. And I certainly loved Kenny with the Who. Not the most obvious of choices, but then what drummer would have been given that they would have to live up to Moon? They knew they were only going to stay together for a few more years anyway.

  • jones has nothing to be ashamed of . he played in small faces which in my opinion was a far better act than the who . marriott rip

  • I was there too, Stranglers And AC DC supporting with the incredible Nils Lofgren, (running up a wall )remember how they filled the entire arena with Laser Beams Too, God I wish those days would come back!!!!

  • I was at this gig, this was the encore. The Who, AC/DC The Stranglers plus Nils Lofgrin (What a lineup) We had a brisk 10 mile walk after as the trains weren't working. Even without Keith, on the night The Who were the best live band around.
