http://wasproject.wasseo.nl/ Recipe for hooch (prison wine) below
How to make wine or hooch from ordinary household groceries that are readily available in prisons.

Whilst in HMP Belmarsh, inmate CX8646 (18 Yrs), developed the below described procedure to make hooch. Compared with todays wine making standards where a lot of additives are used, I daresay that his method results in an excellent natural wine IF you omit the extra sugar (even though so called natural wines are often prepared with added sugar!).

This wine recipe delivers great results with most fruit juices, pineapple juice excluded (a thread-like mass developed within the fluid, making it undrinkable). Orange juice (if you want to make real orange wine), grape juice and apple juice make fine wines. The better the ingredients, the better the wine. The more sugar, the stronger the wine. The sugar content of the mix determines the percentage of alcohol in a ratio of about 1 to 1. The natural yeast of the dried raisins allows for the conversion of sugar into alcohol. This alcohol is nothing but a bacterial secretion (poop or pee?).

I myself add about 1 / 10 part sugar. Together with the sugar content of juice and raisins, this results in a strong wine of around 18 percent.

A few grams of the mass that remains after filtration may be used as a starter for the next batch to which you won't need to add any dried raisins. The mix then starts to ferment within a day, instead of after a few days and the wine is produced much quicker.

Wine requisites:
* 1 container (2 liters)
* Fruit juice (1 ½ liters - use orange juice for real Orange Wine)
* Dried raisins (a small cup)
* Sugar (a big cup = optional for higher alcohol percentage)

Wine preparation:
* Put everything in the container and leave at least an inch of empty space below the cap.
* Close container with cap.
* Shake well.
* Twist cap a bit loose, so no air can enter, but gases may escape. Otherwise, the container WILL explode.
* Depending on temperature (warmer mix will start to ferment sooner) and composition of juice (orange juice will ferment faster than apple juice) allow 1 to 3 weeks to ferment.
* For a clear wine, you may filter it before consumption.
* For a sparkling wine, enclose the mix airtight within a container that can withstand a considerable pressure. Be careful, because an exploding bottle may cause extensive damage.

Go Orange!

  • @ALL

    Ingredients for 1/2 gal. wine ≥17% alc/vol. At ±70°F, ready to drink within days.

    1- Last batch's leftover a- sediment b- raisins

    2- 1/2 gal. orange juice

    3- 10 oz. dried raisins

    Preparation

    1- Mix ingredients in container ≥5/8gal. allowing CO2 to escape. Else, it WILL explode

    2- Fermenting starts within hours a- gas bubbles are visible b- a sizzle is audible c- a rotten odor can be smelled

    3- Wine is ready when sweet taste is gone. Filter it and add flavor using your imagination

  • Can you drink it straight or you have to wait a few weeks?

  • @stuntz97 I always drink it within a week after I deem the taste right, which happens usually after about 5 days of fermentation. Possibly, after filtering it may be kept for a few weeks. Never tried that, though.

  • im gona wip up a batch ive done this before and it does work quite well it dont taste to nice tho.... and wud apple juice work better than orrange or is orrange the best?

  • @mechreports1 I recommend that you experiment some. Orange juice ferments sooner than other juices that I've tried. A mix of orange juice and apple juice is quite nice.

  • i made some and it tasted sour/salty almost like a viniger taste, why is that?

  • @elm358 You left it too long. Drink it before you get the vinegar taste! This method has no additive to stop the fermenting and at room temperature the wine should be ready to drink within a week after preparation. Another week later you'll have vinegar.

  • This is what I used,2 litre bottle,carton and a half of apple juice,rasins,half a apple and half a pear and quarter bag of sugar,got 4 slices of brown bread and got the yeast out of it with tepid water then strained through material,let it ferment for 8 days, then poured mixture over thin material covering a jug catching unwanted bits, poured wine into 2 litre bottle and froze in freezer for 24 hour, defrost then drink (gets you wasted)

  • mines on 4 days using bakers yeast... still fizzing..

    how do you filter out the yeast.. i want to drink the shit lol

  • @OzzyJClarke it would ferment only up to the point where the alcohol content began killing off the yeast.

  • @ComedyRoundTheCorner my room is a mess my mom dont bother to walk into my walk i closet a great place for it plus i have containers that have B bal cards in i cand just build a fort like structure the weigh of the the missing cards
