They're far from being Canucks. 3/4 of the band lives in Texas (last time I checked), but they're known as the "Boys From Oklahoma" not just for the song they made famous (though written by Gene Collier).
Their name is taken from the last names of the members:
Cross - Grady Cross (lead & rhythm guitar)
Canadian - Cody Canada (lead vocals & lead guitar)
Ragweed - A combo of Randy Ragsdale (drums) and Matt Wiedemann (original bassist who was replaced soon after formation by Jeremy Plato)
