Congressman Ryan testifies before the House Rules Committee. To see the true cost of the health care bill, please see the recent letter that the CBO wrote to Congressman Ryan here:

  • I like this guy so much I don't want to call him a politician.

  • Well done Congressman Ryan. I understood all of that perfectly, but I'm not a Democrat. It's not that Dem's don't get it, it's that they just don't care that they are going to bankrupt America.

  • The one good thing about Ryan's budget proposal is that it will put a lot of right wingers out of thier jobs and homes. They'll have to move in with the kids who won't have jobs either. Many will die from lack of proper affardable health care. I'm all for that

  • I don't think anyone can say anything against what Ryan just said, not even the most left wing person in that room.

  • @Mundunugu he's not a politician, he is a true public servant.

  • @Diatonic5th Are you serious. Paul Ryan and his constituents is the reason for the economic meltdown? I mean it was definitely not the shadow banking system that has flooded this government and a lack of the ability to allow creative destruction. Not to mention the Federal Reserve being last- lender option for these non regulated institutions which has made the dollar basically worthless.

No your right it was Paul Ryan.

  • If the Doc Fix ever gets passed, it'll be it's own bill, with its own cost and its own savings.

By Ryan's logic, I could claim the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act actually had a monetary cost, when you include the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act with the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. This is absurd of course because these things are actually two completely different acts of Congress.

The health care reform and any Doc Fix acts will also be two completely different acts.

  • Ryan doesn't know what he's talking about. The real cost of the health care reform law is higher when you include things like the Doctor's Fix that weren't included in the bill? The reason the CBO didn't score the Doctor's Fix is, duh, they were scoring a bill and the Doc Fix wasn't in the bill.

  • @Diatonic5th You can't sign a bill into law without the President's signature. Who was president in 1999?
