  • that is very true i cant use none of my songs i bought from itunes for other things like windows movie maker

  • @nuchikim Umm... no, Apple was the first and biggest advocate of DRM to begin with. True, in more recent years, they have been making media more "device friendly", but it is still a big inconvenience to the consumer to have to choose which device they want to have their music/videos synced to. The bottom line is, in order to fully empower the consumer of media they have purchased and rightfully own, media must be copied. The record companies are just going to have to live with it.

  • who the fuck buys shit off of iTunes anyway??? RETARDS!!! DON'T FEED THOSE RICH APPLE FUCKERS

  • Furthermore, companie no longer compete with eachother anymore for business. They would rather concoct software and methods that make you as a consumer pay more than you should be paying for a product. Companies dont compete with other companies so much anymore, as they really compete with customers. They realized that people will pay almost any ammount, for anything, if they want it enough. You also have people like Lars Ulrich to thank for this new kind of "business" "ethic".

  • Apple has pushed in the right direction as far as the companies are concerned, NOT the consumer. Its all about making more money. Dont you know that DRM costs? Thats why iTunes is .99c per song, as opposed to non DRM distributors like eMusic who only charge .25 per song. So, your paying .74c more on iTunes because of their DRM system. As a consumer, what the hell do you care if record/OS companies are making money? DRM is for their protection, not yours.

  • Youre an idiot. Sony is actually one of the only companies out there that make file/media use totally up to the consumer. The only thing that Sony makes that is prorpietary is its ProDuo cards, but they also allow use of SD cards. Apple (Mac) and Microsoft are the companies that make proprietary hardware/software, and control your personal use!

  • Apple isn't the problem here. DRM was something that the record companies demanded before the would approve online music stores.

Apple has pushed the companies in the right direction look up iTunes plus.

Yet again they are paving the way forward in the digital music age.
