  • that does sound pretty sick.... ive got an 02 p5 with k&n intake and mazdaspeed exhaust...

but what effect do the aftermarket headers have?

  • pretty much no effect. i put those on for him and, personally, wasn't impressed. but whatever-- its his money. i wouldn't waste mine though.

  • Wow, that car sounds damn good, like a fucking F1. What CAI, and exhaust are you running?

  • hahaha. not even close to F1. more like barber dodge or some other 4 banger. it's my buddy's car, so i'm not sure what exhaust he put on it. but i custom built the CAI for him. nothing special

  • ask you friend if the intake, exhaust and headers added any noticable hp and get back to me

  • they whip morons

  • gay

  • with the rsx, i wasn't talking about the type-s, which has 142 lbft, though i'm not sure if the base rsx has vtec or i-vtec. and my car doesn't have variable valve lift/timing. in reality the mazda 2.0l has a very respectable amount of torque, i guess i just wanted to argue.

  • You have to consider too, that RSX has V-Tec. Which has a tremendous effect on power. I'm also guessing that your 1.8 has some type of varible valve timing. All things considered, they are good performers for what they are.

  • 135 lb/ft is not a lot of tourque at all. it's basically average. compare that to a rsx 2.0l that has 141 lbft, or my 1.8l that has 125 lbft. 2800 lbs is a lot to be getting pushed by 130 hp.

  • True, they look good, and are fairly heavy. But what you fail to realize is that that motor is 130hp, and 135ft/lbs of torque. That is an EXTREMELY torquey factory motor. Also, 2800lbs isn't really that heavy, realistically for a wagon, that's pretty light.

  • these protege5s are all looks, unless you boost this 2.0l 130hp I4, it's not going to have enough push to get this 2800lb car going.
