In fact, Planned Parenthood did not perform abortions while MLK was alive. There's no greater injustice today, than the slaughter of over 1.21 million defenseless unborn children. Abortion occurs at 5 times the rate in the black population as the white population; this has been by historical design. This Civil Rights crisis is the result of nearly a century of Planned Parenthood's propaganda and targeting of the poorer black community for population control. Exponentially high STD/HIV rates, over 70% fatherlessness, and increasing poverty join the unspeakable tragedy of over 300,000 annual African-American aborted lives. @erinreid77 Ignorance is the result of not being exposed to the truth. The CDC reports abortion according to race/ethnicity; it's epidemic in the black community. The entire genesis of Planned Parenthood was rooted in the racist pseudoscience of eugenics...and you absurdly claim abortion has nothing to do with race. Ignorance, indeed. Our stats are irrefutable. Side by side? Only 20% of white women's pregnancies are aborted in NYC. A breast cancer awareness campaign need not show men's stats.

You can repeat Guttmacher's fallacious claim that most abortion mills are in predominantly white communities, but it doesn't make it true. In GA, for instance, 8 out of the 14 clinics are located in predominantly black areas (50% or more African-American population) according to U.S. Census data. Guttmacher/Planned Parenthood always lament how most rural (majority white) areas don't have a clinic....hmmmm, which is it?

What's strange is that a person can be charged with harming a fetus if the woman intends to keep the baby, but if she doesn't want it she can legally have its body pulled apart and thrown away.

@toomanyaborted NOWHERE did I claim that PP is the ONLY abortion provider out there. The post is right up there FFS - read it again. They in fact only perform about 30% of abortions nationally. It's beyond dispute that there are 1,100+ fewer abortion providers in the country than there were in 1982 (a 38% drop), while PP's share of abortions has quadrupled since 1982. Gee, wonder why? Do you think that women are dragged in there against their will?

You claimed PP's increase is due to elimination of other clinics. False. Reduction in clinics has not reduced annual number of abortions which have remained above 1.2 million. And guess where most new PP clinics are built? Hmm...You're the one cherry-picking which one of your debunked replies you'll defend.

This is the part where I demolish your argument. The 2005-2008 rise is most likely a blip - SIX more does not a trend make.

@snidelywhiplash Let's look at the stats. Unmarried birth rate was 3.8% in the early 40s when Planned Parenthood took its name (formerly American Birth Control League). It has increased 13-fold (in ttl numbers since then). It's now at staggering rate of 32.6% (72.3% in black community). Prevalent birth control has done NOTHING to reduce unintended pregnancies. PP is subsidized by our tax dollars (half billion annually) to REDUCE this rate, hence core mission of Title-X funding.

Around 820 of those are PP clinics. Again, epic prochoice fail on your part, because facts matter. Nationally abortion INCREASED from 2005-2008 AND PP's share of those abortions has increased since the early 90s. And repeating debunked NARAL pre-Roe fabrications fits your M.O. sadly

Since unintended pregnancy is why Planned Parenthood justifies over 329,000 abortions in latest reported year, it is significant. Their failure to address their stated cause of most abortions is significant. Poverty has only increased since Roe v. Wade, or are those not tracked enough w/ granularity for you? 84% of abortions are on unmarried women; marriage is anathema to PP.
