@stayfly90 Top gear really doesn't matter to most of us Americans . We watch the show and enjoy it, but at the end of the day if you ask us what we want, it won't be any car on the program. It'll be a big heavy N/A V8 with an even heavier torque bias. Look at the differences in what motorsports we watch and enjoy. There isn't a city in America without a quarter mile dragstrip. Sure, we have famous "tracks", but that has more to do with how big the country is than popularity of them.

because of lack of safety features and failure to meet emissions standards

but can can be licensed for legal road use if the engine and transmission

are purchased separately from the chassis.

Chassis may be purchased from 7 dealers located around the country.

Engines and transmissions may be purchased from Caterham USA.

My CSR has over 20K legal road miles in the US.

For the ZR1 to have the same brake area per ton as the CSR, the ZR1 would need 16" disks.

@magnum9987 For the corvette zr1 to have the same rubber on the road for its weight as the CSR, its rear tire width would have to be increased from 13" to 25"!!! The lighter CSR also gets away with a stickier "020" DOT-rated tire compound.

haha good effort looked like 220kmh...be hard pushed to get much more from any caterham. last one i was in was an R500 Superlight (in the UK) and that was pretty immense. nothing quite like doin 140MPH with ur buttocks virtually scraping the tarmac and struggling to breathe due to lack of windscreen so much fun. didnt know the little fellas had made it out to your neck of the woods (also a tasty lotus esprit in the barn) nice work :)

lol @ 5:23 he is struggling to speak properly from all the adrenalin rushing through his body lol lovely, my MX 5 turbo only did 0-100kph in 6 sec and I used have the same problem speaking - haha your car is so cool man glad to see it you must surprise the hell out of those big clumsy cars and trucks over there.

@stayfly90 Agree. The best looking Sports cars made in the 50s, 60s and 70s Were all European, But you have to admit that Americans built some of the best looking passenger cars in the world, from the 40s onwards. Also the most Hotrodable.
