I feel i CAN hit the high high notes,
but there's just this creepy tone to it that sounds like Herbert from Family Guy
but my lower notes sound a lot better IMO.
i'm wondering how to make the high notes actually sound like a good singers voice

No way, uh uh. Ain't nobody supposed to do that, you will ruin your voice. There are 3 sections of your voice. There is your chest voice for when you hit low notes, there is your head voice or falsetto to sing really high notes. Mixed voice is the right technique. A lot might think it's belting it out in full chest but it's actually a compressed mixed voice. This vocal teacher right here is really a crackhead!!!!!!!
