1964, I thought. I hate the law that buildings can't be taller then the arch, though. We'll never know how that may have limited downtown growth or economic benefit.

The Arch is the Tallest Structure in St. Louis. It's a law in St. Louis that no building can be taller than the Arch that stands 630 feet tall. It was built in 1935 and cost 30 million dollars to build. That's a lot of money for that time but the Arch is absolutly beautiful and totally worth the money. The top of the Arch sways 1/2 to an 1 inch at 20 mile per hour winds. Cool huh.
