@deathtouch503 my grandmother raised me.. it was like losing a mother so her death messed me up. I locked up tight when she died. I just remember being really angry at everyone (her included..) for a few months and not really wanting to talk about it.. just wanting to move on. Losing memory is the mind's way of healing. Don't worry. You'll keep the important things.
@deathtouch503 I think we don't remember smell consciously because we don't think of remembering it until we don't smell it anymore. Then we're all like "Oh shit.. doesn't smell like you anymore!" This happened to me when my grandmother died. I actually didn't really do any constructive grieving until i went back into her house a few months after she died and couldn't smell her anymore. And i couldn't remember what it should smell like. I had shut down before that. That kick-started the healing
@deathtouch503 It doesn't necessarily mean that you are forgetting about them. You're heart will never forget them. You will always have them in your heart. It's just the fact that you haven't seen them in a long time and you don't remember what they look like. I haven't seen my Great Nana in 3 almost 4 years now, and I am starting to lose what she looked like, but that doesn't mean that she won't be in my heart.
Amazing video! The part about not being able to remeber what he smelled like and sound like made me think about my mother and father, and i can not without a picture remember what they look like. For some reason i can not picture them in my mind. I try to think about a specific event and i can not see them. Does that make me a bad person? Does this mean i am forgetting about them?

Lost my dad 2 weeks before my 17th B-day. Lost my mom a week before my 31st B-day. Would rather not see my 33rd B-day.
