This is the intake manifold for my Cobra engine. It starts as a stock Edelbrock dual plane, dual quad intake. I mill and weld in the Accel bungs for the high performance injectors. It gets topped off with 2 Accel 1050 CFM throttle bodies mounted to a custom billet spacer.

  • That chamfer appears to be a bit shallow for that thickness, also noticed your not purging. Though it i dont think the weld be compromised for given task. Unless your doing a comp build and expecting some vary nasty backfires.

  • You are right.....before I welded I ground it a bit deeper with a burr. Since it is fuel injected I hope I don't see many backfires, but it is not a race engine so it should not see that much pressure. Excellent comment!

  • you jerk! your in injectors is pointing in the floor of manifold. think again

  • I will give you a chance to redeem yourself. The throttle bodies sit on top of the manifold and only regulate air. If you look straight down the injector bung it dumps right into the the cylinder head. Now, you think again.

  • ou said "bung" and "Penitrate."

  • Lucky I wasn't working on a radiator and said petcock, or tightening allen bolts with a dick pin.

  • Yes it is.

  • is this the manifold you installed on the cobra?

  • I knew that was going to sound confusing. I have many wires in the wiring harness going to the engine so I am making a billet bracket to mount to the back of th head that will route all of the wiring. I am going to mount the MAP sensor at the very top above the valve cover line so it gets air flow. It it be almost right at the hood scoop opening. The optimum place is on the firewall but all new cars have it mounted to the lift bracket on the back of the engine just above the valve cover.

  • @CoolCarsHotGuitars :

Thanks for the input i appreciate it! But i am a little confused on exactly where you will mount the MAP sensor? You say it will be off a bracket from the head? It seems like that would have more heat than if directly to the air cleaner or carb/ tbi spacer? Also, i am using the oem MAP sensor from a 96 5.3 vortec motor so maybe our sensors are designed differently? Maybe when you get to this step you can post a video of how and where to mount it?

    Thanks again!
