This is the finale of an episode made in 1973 titled HOSTAGE. It features some sadly lost buildings in the London Docks and some nice Rover vehicles including a Morris LD van. IThe music track on this clip is called Tour of Industry and was composed by Mike Vickers. There is a seperate track of this music on my video lists.

  • That's strange, my DVD's have a "modern" logo which come up at the end credits :(

Thanks for uploading this clip airscrew, as soon as I received my box set last week, this is the first clip I went to :)

BTW: Who do you think shot the terrorist?

I think that Haggerty's shot missed and the terrorist was hit by Craven & North :)

  • Yes you're right they have that tacky Pearson logo or something similar depending on what the latest company cashing in on these uses.

  • So do your DVD's not have a logo at the end?

  • Mine just fade to black. I used to have some Sweeney and Special Branch episodes on 16mm film and they had the Thames logo at the start but at the end they didn't have the Thames Ident just black film. These Special Branch episodes could have been sourced from overseas TV stations - I know my 16mm versions came from Germany.

  • Also check out the instrumental track from this clip in stereo. A cracking composition from Mike Vickers.

  • Also I forgot to add that I don't live too far away from where this scene was shot and today the only bit still there is the large lake. It's got houses and apartments all over the place with hanging baskets and black railings.

  • Saw all of this ep on Monday. Harrowing and intense with a realistically acted scene in which Craven's girlfriend dumped him. Love seeing Pat Mower as an action man. They should release Target.

  • i just found the entire series of special branch 68 to 73 on two dvds but the £120 i find a bit steep to be honest great show though

  • :( It's a shame all that stuff was demolished although I'm sure the people who live in those houses and apartments would think different :)
