I don't know where you come from but I want to tell you that the Persians I knew before Iran went to shit in 1979 were AWESOME! The women I knew were VERY well educated, scientists and community leaders and beautiful and sophisticated and witty and wise and not the least bit oppressed or abused. They had to move to Egypt after the fall of civilization there. They could never go home. :(

The guys, who were also scientists, did go home but they only stayed long enough to get their families out.
