"Tambora Foundation in co-operation with Arte Sin Fronteras (Colombia) and the program, My International Friend"
Hand for Life is an opportunity to create a bridge to connect people from 2 different countries with different language and socio-cultural issues.
This all happens by supporting their inner expression through Art. Art is a very well known tool that helps us all to re-connect with our vision of the world we live in, and all around us, Internally and externally. When we have in two separate spots 2 groups of children who want to know each other but their language does not allow them to do so, they might not by able to talk with words but they can express by painting the stories of their life. What does my city look like? how do I picture my family? do I have a pet? How do I picture Nature?
Our second group is young people with learning difficulties. Children and adults with some learning difficulties normally show a special interest in Art. This fact has made Hands for life not only an opportunity for them to grow and explore the inner artist but also to be able to connect with people from other countries and literally become friend of them by sharing and communicating thought their Art.
