UK Post punk/Gothic rock band performing on music television programme The Tube. The Southern Death Cult was an early 1980's Post Punk/Gothic Rock band from England. Former members then formed another band called 'Death Cult' and then changed it to simply 'The Cult' and would later garner mainstream success.

  • Actually Ian Astbury was the only one form a supergroup call "Death Cult"

  • Thes Southern Death Cult could be found early 80s supporting Killing Joke, Theatre of Hate or Bauhaus. Ian then left to form The Death Cult with Billy Duffy but they had trouble getting gig's with that name so changed to The Cult.

  • I've known about the previous incarnations of The Cult but this is the first time I've heard or seen any of it, pretty interesting stuff. So totally 80s!

  • The singer looks kind of high.

  • Yes Awesome
