The atmosphere of the OPEN HOUSE set changed by late 1989. The overhead lighting did that. Possibly,different cameras were used also.

There's something to be said about series stars playing supporting roles in spinoffs and vice-versa. Mary Page Keller was second-billed on DUET and supported on OPEN HOUSE. Reversed,it's Alison LaPlaca. The same in the case of ABC's THREE COMPANY. The late Norman Fell and the late Audra Lindley played the supporting Stanley and Helen Roper before starring on the spinoff THE ROPERS. Also,Fell and Lindley were both respectively first and second-billed.

OPEN HOUSE went to FOX television heaven in 1990 with 21 JUMP STREET and THE TRACEY ULLMAN SHOW. All that was left from Fox's inaugural Sunday night line-up was MARRIED...WITH CHILDREN which carried on for 7 more seasons.

I just looked on the Amazon website,and apparently Duet/Open House are not yet,at least available on DVD. The shows have one syndication history to my knowledge,on the Lifetime channel from March 1991 to mid-1992.
