  • @MCBosmans I would hope that all the former students, active now or inactive, would share the video material of the great teachers. Otherwise more and more will be lost. And it is not good to deprive others out of selfishness so great, that the last remains of direct teachings and footage would go lost for the next generations...

Everything that can be done, must be done to keep as much as possible details preserved. People tend to decrease knowledge, if they don't meet their match to correct

  • @samtayt I do want to learn as much as possible, but I don't want to travel a huge amount of distance to learn the exact same system that I left. I already need to travel 50 minutes by train to learn with my current teacher.

  • @ownage4000 I think, that now you can learn Wing Chun not directly from Yip man for almost forty years, and also most of the aforementioned sifu's past away, it is not wise to dicriminate among the great teachers. Rather compare and store all of their knowledge. Even the contradictions, and know them. Profit from them. That will be gain for Wing Chun!

  • @ownage4000 I myself am not prejudiced. It is very western to polarize. We mus remember Yip Man did bring the Wing Chun tot Hong Kong and had at first not may pupils, and was careful to select them. Among the older students were Leung Sheung, Wang Kiu, Wong Shun Leung, Lok Yiu an Tui Shun Tin.

Wang Kiu and Wong Shun Leung were good friends. Important is, that all people are different. Yip Man gave each slighgtly different lessons. According to talent, relation and fysical abilities.

  • @samtayt I think I'll stick to my current teacher from the WSL-lineage:).

  • @ownage4000 I know Klaus Jeske in Germany traint Wing Chun for 25 years, among his sifu's Lo Man Kam. His last teacher was Wang Kiu. What I have seen from this guy is very good. He is very intelligent, works hard and has an enormous knowledge sucked in from his sifu's, and most of his teaching is Wang Kiu's.

Another one recommended by Wang himself is Khoe, as I mentioned before.

There are also other teachers in Holland, that had lessons from Wang Kiu, like James ter Beek.

  • @eternalspring247 I rather forget about it. It isn't one of my favorite activities to see people humiliated or get hurt. Even my teacher (back in the day when they trained together) had to sit on a bench during training, because Dick has kneed him in the stomach area.

  • @ownage4000 Than you should file a complaint to him. haha It's already done and history. If he is really that bad person according to you, than according to Karma (same as action / reaction) he will get what he deserves. Why still live in the past. Try to learn from that lesson and now focus on your current Wing Chun. You must have learned something from this experience with him. ;-)

  • @MCBosmans So this crane story sounds true. But to be honest I never heard this before. I only have learned to protect the head. So in the end it is protecting the head!!!! If Wang Kiu liked to described it with the Crane but still telling the real purpose of these movements to protect your head. Than I don't see any problems with it. I know in many Chinese martial arts they like to use similiar stories, as long the real purpose is there!!!

  • @ownage4000 When we don't like someone or have a bad experience with him, we tend to see only the bad side of this person. We let the bad experience cloud our mind. But in the end you still don't know if he is a good person or not. Maybe he is a good father or maybe he does charity. So in Buddhism it is better not to let the emotions cloud your mind. Better see the real truth. If you don't like Wachtberger it is ok. But try to look further, maybe he can contribute in WK Wing Chun somehow.
